Abstract

Blackstone's open-ended infrastructure fund, Blackstone Infrastructure Partners (BIP), has reached $43.9 billion in commitments, with $34.3 billion raised through the main strategy and $9.6 billion held in co-investment vehicles. The fund, which launched in 2017, aims to raise $20 billion from institutional investors and received a $20 billion cornerstone investment from the Public Investment Fund of Saudi Arabia. BIP invests in various infrastructure markets, including transport, energy, communications, water, and waste, and has attracted capital from pension plans, sovereign wealth funds, insurance companies, and other institutional investors. The fund has made deals with companies such as Tallgrass Energy, Carrix, QTS Realty, and FirstEnergy. [Extracted from the article]
