In memoriam: Aleksander Nowiński (1935–2023).

This article is a memorial tribute to Aleksander Nowiński, a prominent paleontologist who passed away in 2023. Nowiński was born in 1935 in Rypin, Poland, and developed a fascination with optics and machines from a young age. He went on to study geology at Warsaw University and became a member of Polish-Mongolian Paleontological expeditions, where he described a new species of sauropod dinosaur. Later in his career, Nowiński focused on tabulate corals, publishing several monographs and papers on their taxonomy and growth patterns.
