Abstract

The article discusses the expansion of transatlantic bandwidth by CANARIE, ESnet, GÉANT, and Internet2. The collaboration has added three 400 Gbps circuits to enhance data-intensive science collaborations, such as the Large Hadron Collider and the Square Kilometer Array. ESnet and Internet2 will operate the circuits in the US, while GÉANT will provide connectivity in the UK and France. The article also mentions the formation of the Linear Pluggable Optics Multi-Source Agreement (LPO MSA) to develop specifications for networking equipment and optical modules, as well as the endorsement of the NVIDIA Blackwell platform by AWS, Google Cloud, and Microsoft.
