Abstract
- This text is a book review discussing two books that examine the social dynamics and transformations of urban spaces. The first book, "Les sauvages de la Civilisation: Regards sur la Zone, d'hier à aujourd'hui" by Jérôme Beauchez, focuses on the marginalized inhabitants of the "Zone" in Paris and their cultural and political power. The second book, "The People's Hotel: Working for Justice in Argentina" by Katherine Sobering, explores the transformation of a hotel in Buenos Aires into a cooperative space. Both books highlight the violence of capitalist urban governance and the need for alternative forms of urban living and governance. The texts emphasize the importance of social justice and the empowerment of marginalized communities in shaping urban spaces. [Extracted from the article]
