Abstract

A study conducted by East Tennessee State University examined the impact of the South Carolina Choose Well contraceptive access initiative on contraceptive method use among women of reproductive age. The study compared data from a cohort of women in South Carolina and a peer state, Alabama, using baseline and follow-up surveys. The results showed that the use of long-acting reversible contraception (LARC) and intrauterine devices (IUDs) significantly increased in South Carolina compared to Alabama. The findings suggest that statewide contraceptive access initiatives can promote access to reproductive health services. [Extracted from the article]
