Abstract

A recent research report from Jordan University of Science and Technology explores a digital manufacturing technique for creating removable orthodontic appliances. The study describes the process of using an intraoral scan to design and manufacture a Hawley retainer, consisting of alloy components and a base plate. The researchers successfully employed a combination of additive and subtractive techniques to create the alloy components and base plate. This innovative method offers an alternative approach to manufacturing dental appliances using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing technologies. [Extracted from the article]
