Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Varna University of Management in Bulgaria explores the potential for automation in the tourism industry to promote sustainable production and consumption patterns. The paper examines the role of automation in minimizing waste and energy usage, as well as its potential to encourage responsible consumption. The research suggests that automation technologies will have a significant impact on both the supply and demand sides of the tourism industry, ultimately contributing to increased sustainability. This study is one of the first to combine automation and Sustainable Development Goal 12 (SDG 12) literature in the context of tourism. [Extracted from the article]
