Abstract

Ripple Energy, a UK renewable developer, has purchased the Whitelaw Brae wind project in Scotland from BayWa r.e. The project, located in the Scottish Borders, will feature 14 Vestas turbines and is expected to produce 145GW per year, enough to power 50,000 homes and save 78,323 tonnes of CO2. Under Ripple's ownership, the project will be publicly owned and aims to become the largest people-owned renewable project in the country. Construction is set to begin in early 2025, with power generation starting in 2026-2027. Ripple also owns other renewable projects, including a solar park in Devon and wind farms in Ayrshire and south Wales. [Extracted from the article]
