Abstract

We have witnessed the rise and fall of a number of authorities - individuals and institutions, media publications present us with similar examples daily. Trust in the government, followed by distrust, a number of other institutions (constitutional court, ministries, the prosecutor's office), individuals are constantly subject to "let him live" and "crucify him", which dangerously increases the confrontation in society. We are waiting for something and someone to unite us, to humble ourselves. This "something" is our culture, the set of ethical rules and norms of behavior that we carry, i.e. to change our attitudes and thinking, to build skills to change them, according to the situation. Thus, we will easily and painlessly find a way out of the difficulties we find ourselves in for various reasons. A lack of trust leads to a change in our view of events and what is happening. Flexibility and criticality is shown during negotiations, when conducting business communications, which helps to maintain good and constructive relationships with partners and clients in order to realize the set goals. We need to see the situation more clearly and perceive it as a whole, not just a part of it. If there is a lack of trust in communication, it will lead to negative experiences that we must reframe in our thoughts, make them seem less unpleasant, even beneficial and positive for our experience. We can hardly change our behavior, but we can always change the way we think or look at things, the point of view, the thought-emotional scheme through which we pass external impulses. In this publication, our goal is to systematize the crisis of trust in institutions, to look for logical explanations and to propose measures to overcome it. We will use up-to-date statistics and expert opinion to present public attitudes. The thesis that we will try to defend is that "the lack of trust in institutions and individuals leads to a loss of legitimacy, public authority and professionalism". The crisis in trust in authority inevitably leads to various civil initiatives - disobedience, increased anti-social manifestations, and for those who have lost hope - emigration to a better world where there are rules.
