Abstract

A study conducted by the University of Siena in Italy aimed to evaluate the association between environmental risk factors and the presence of caries in pediatric patients. The study included 118 pediatric patients and investigated lifestyle habits through questionnaires. The results confirmed the role of nutritional habits in caries development, particularly in deciduous teeth. The researchers concluded that further clinical studies are needed to improve the quality of questionnaires and evaluate the cause/effect relationship between environmental risk factors and caries.
