Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of Navarra highlights the importance of palliative care in improving the quality of life for patients, their families, and caregivers. The study discusses the evolution of the ATLANTES Global Observatory of Palliative Care, which has been mapping palliative care data worldwide for the past 15 years. The atlases created by ATLANTES have served as advocacy tools and have now evolved into interactive web tools that provide accessible and visually appealing palliative care data. In recognition of the need for robust monitoring of palliative care globally, ATLANTES has become a WHO Collaborating Centre for the Global Monitoring of Palliative Care Development.
