Abstract
- A recent report discusses research findings on the impact of maternal viral suppression on growth patterns and malnutrition in HIV-exposed but uninfected infants in Kenya. The study analyzed clinical data from infants and their mothers between September 2015 and March 2019. The results showed that maternal viral suppression did not significantly affect malnutrition indicators in the infants. However, growth patterns over time differed based on maternal viral suppression status and gender. The study suggests that overall, maternal viral suppression is not associated with increased odds of severe malnutrition in these children. [Extracted from the article]
