Abstract
- The Association of Colleges (AoC) has released 14 policy papers that outline the necessary reforms for the further education (FE) and skills system in England. These papers cover a range of topics including adult education, apprenticeships, curriculum, mental health, and workforce. The AoC's recommendations are based on extensive research and engagement with colleges, and aim to create a fair, efficient, and effective tertiary education system that meets the needs of all individuals. The Opportunity England report, published by the AoC, highlights the ineffectiveness, inefficiency, and unfairness of the current FE system, and proposes reforms that would provide 100% opportunity for young people and adults. These reforms include the establishment of a national social partnership body, devolution, demand-led funding, and improved assessment processes. The report also emphasizes the importance of digital skills, collaboration between colleges and universities, and the promotion of lifelong learning. [Extracted from the article]
