Abstract
- This systematic review examines the occurrence of hospital-acquired measles and provides evidence for infection control policies in hospitals. The review includes 24 studies and finds that measles transmission in healthcare settings is a significant burden on morbidity, mortality, and the economy. The study emphasizes the importance of monitoring and enhancing healthcare workers' booster vaccination guidelines during the post-elimination period of measles. The review also highlights various interventions and risk factors for exposure and hospitalization. The findings suggest that healthcare facilities are major sites of measles transmission, and healthcare workers are at a higher risk of contracting measles compared to the general public. Vaccination status and timely diagnosis are important factors in preventing and managing measles outbreaks in healthcare settings. [Extracted from the article]
