Abstract
- According to John W. Rogers, founder of Ariel Investments and a major shareholder in Paramount Global, the company should consider other proposals before merging with Skydance Media, owned by David Ellison. Rogers suggests that a deal with Apollo Global Management Inc. and Sony Group Corp. could be a better outcome for investors, as they are larger and more proven companies. Rogers also expresses surprise and disappointment at the departure of Paramount CEO Bob Bakish during merger discussions. Paramount, the parent company of CBS and MTV, is currently in exclusive talks with Skydance. [Extracted from the article]
