Abstract

A study conducted at Hanyang University explored the influence of circle of Willis (CoW) modeling on hemodynamic parameters in anterior communicating artery aneurysms (AComAs). The researchers used computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to calculate these parameters and compared five patient-specific CoW models. They found that the differences in vascular resistances of the left and right A1 and A2 segments significantly affected the flow patterns in the AComA. These findings can contribute to a better understanding of blood flow in the brain and potentially improve the diagnosis and treatment of cerebral aneurysms. [Extracted from the article]
