Abstract
- New outbreaks of avian influenza, also known as bird flu, continue to be a problem in Europe, including Romania. The H5N1 virus, which causes bird flu, was first identified in Asia in 1997 and later arrived in Romania in 2005. Avian influenza has serious consequences for the poultry industry and international trade. Preventing and combating the disease requires international cooperation and surveillance of the virus in wild birds. It is also important to understand the behavior of wild birds and limit contact between domestic and wild birds to prevent the spread of the disease. [Extracted from the article]
