Abstract
- Two templated borates, [Co(1-EI)<subscript>2</subscript>]·[B<subscript>5</subscript>O<subscript>7</subscript>(OH)<subscript>3</subscript>] (1) and [Ga(1-MI)<subscript>2</subscript>·B<subscript>6</subscript>O<subscript>9</subscript>(OH)<subscript>4</subscript>]·[H<subscript>3</subscript>BO<subscript>3</subscript>]·H[1-MI] (2), have been synthesized using a mild method. Notably, they exhibit an excellent ORR performance with an E<subscript>1/2</subscript> value of 0.84 V and are the first to be used as the positive electrode catalyst for a zinc–air battery, which opens a pathway for the application of borate-based oxide catalysts.
