Abstract

A new method for predicting vehicle energy consumption corresponding to a reference driving cycle using OBD signals as real-world driving data has been developed. Based on the scatter plot of vehicle speed and acceleration of on-road driving data and WLTC, feature plots" which are the on-road data points that match the refence driving data points are extracted, then the WLTC equivalent energy consumption can be predicted by accumulating the instantaneous energy consumption at the individual extracted feature points. In an evaluation test, WLTC energy consumption predicted by this method was 2% greater than the WLTC reference value. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
