Abstract

Giorgio Armani, the founder of Italian fashion empire Giorgio Armani SpA, has hinted at the possibility of major changes for the company in the future. Armani, who has fought to keep his company independent, now says he won't rule out merging with a larger rival or listing on an exchange. While he doesn't currently envision a takeover by a luxury conglomerate, he is open to new ideas and leaving the door open for an eventual initial public offering. Armani also discussed succession plans, stating that he hopes a group of trusted individuals chosen by him will lead the company in the future. He emphasized the importance of Italian fashion maintaining its role in the global luxury industry. [Extracted from the article]
