Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mt. Sinai in New York City explored voice onset patterns during the production of different sound pressure levels (SPL) and frequencies. The study involved three healthy males and three healthy females, who underwent simultaneous high-speed video laryngoscopy and recording to analyze acoustic and aerodynamic data. The findings revealed that voice onset occurs without the need for full glottal closure and that there are significant variations in vocal tract adjustments with increasing SPL. The study also highlighted the advantages of flexible high-speed video laryngoscopy over rigid video laryngoscopy. [Extracted from the article]
