Abstract

A new report from the Faculty of Engineering in Baku, Azerbaijan explores the effect of conductivity changes in ischemic heart tissue on electrocardiography (ECG) readings. The study finds that current simulation models of ischemia, which only consider unhealthy transmembrane potential, may not accurately reflect the impact of conductivity changes on ECG results. By incorporating unhealthy conductivities in numerical studies, a more accurate simulation of ischemic heart tissue can be achieved. The research suggests that this approach should be considered in future studies to improve the accuracy of ECG diagnoses for ischemia. [Extracted from the article]
