Durability and efficacy of a novel transparent silicon attachment, the Static Electricity Fastening Tape-hood: a prospective cohort study.

This article discusses a study conducted to evaluate the efficacy and durability of a transparent silicon attachment called the Static Electricity Fastening Tape (SET) hood, which can be used during colonoscopies. The study involved 69 colonoscopies using the SET hood, and the results showed a 100% completion rate of colonoscopy without hood detachment and a 100% cecal intubation rate. The median intubation time was 8 minutes, and the total examination time had a median of 20 minutes. The adenoma detection rate was 48%, and there were no complications reported.
