Abstract
- Spotify has announced that 25% of its paid users in the US, UK, and Australia have started listening to audiobooks as part of their subscriptions. The majority of these users, 57%, are between the ages of 18 and 34, indicating that younger generations are particularly interested in this format. Spotify began offering 15 hours of audiobook listening per month to its paying subscribers last October, and the feature is now available in six markets. The company has seen a significant increase in audiobook purchases, with sales more than doubling in the first quarter of this year compared to the fourth quarter of 2023. Spotify plans to introduce more tools and features to further promote audiobooks and increase user engagement. [Extracted from the article]
