Abstract
- This document is a summary of a special issue in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences titled "Dietary Bioactive Components in Inflammatory Bowel Disease." The special issue explores the potential of dietary bioactive compounds, particularly those found in fruits and vegetables, for the prevention and management of inflammatory bowel diseases (IBD). The issue includes seven papers, consisting of five research articles and two reviews, which investigate the effects of various dietary components on IBD, including Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, and colorectal cancer. The studies highlight the complex interactions between dietary bioactive compounds, gut microbiota, and immune responses in the context of IBD, and suggest that these compounds may have therapeutic potential in managing the disease.
