Abstract
- WRAP, an NGO focused on improving resource efficiency in textiles, plastics, and food systems, has opened a new office in the Americas. Led by executive director Leah Karrer, the office will coordinate programs with partners to address environmental issues related to consumption, which accounts for 45% of global emissions. The office will focus on citizen-facing campaigns and changing business operations towards more sustainable models. WRAP also plans to develop new standards for circular products and will release them later in 2024. The organization will work closely with partners in the USA, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, and Mexico to deliver lasting, measurable change towards a sustainable future. WRAP will also publish a report in collaboration with the Ellen MacArthur Foundation on the impact of Plastics Pacts worldwide. [Extracted from the article]
