Morphological and molecular data confirm the first record of Dysphania cristata (Dysphanieae, Chenopodioideae, Amaranthaceae) in the Mediterranean basin.

Both morphological and molecular data confirmed the presence of the Australian Dysphania cristata in the Mediterranean basin. This is the first record in this region (made in Mahdia city, Tunisia). A brief morphological description of this species is provided along with a subsequent comparison with related and similarly looking Dysphania species.
