Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at a British university investigated the effects of two different intraoral polishing methods on zirconia-reinforced lithium silicate ceramic after ultrasonic scaling. The study found that both polishing systems significantly reduced the surface roughness of the ceramic, as well as decreased color change and bacterial accumulation. These findings suggest that intraoral polishing techniques can improve the surface quality of restorations and reduce staining and bacterial growth. The study was published in the European Journal of Dentistry and more information can be obtained from the researchers at the British University in Cairo, Egypt. [Extracted from the article]
