Abstract
- A new study from Wuhan University of Science and Technology explores the co-evolution of epidemics and public opinion on social networks. The researchers propose a networked SIRS epidemic model with opinion dynamics to analyze the impact of community opinion on the spread of epidemics. By introducing stubborn communities, they identify conditions that ensure epidemics converge to a healthy state. The study also examines the influence of vaccination on epidemic spreading, finding that vaccination can delay the peak of infections and reduce the overall infection rate in communities.
