Abstract
- This article examines the relationship between heritage and decoloniality, focusing on how colonial legacies continue to impact public spaces and social structures. The authors argue for the need to challenge racialized social systems and exclusionary regimes through grassroots activism and protests. They also explore the politics of representation, the decolonization of heritage institutions and practices, and the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and diverse perspectives. The article includes case studies, interviews, and reflections on the complexities of heritage and decoloniality. It calls for further exploration of the different ways decoloniality is mobilized, the concrete manifestations of decoloniality in heritage practice, and the practical implications for transformative actions. The text emphasizes the importance of recognizing power structures, diverse perspectives, and the complexities of decoloniality in heritage practices. [Extracted from the article]
