Abstract

This article discusses a randomized controlled trial that evaluated the effectiveness of an Innovation Lab program in promoting collaboration among early career scholars. The study found that while the program successfully formed cross-disciplinary teams and increased grant submissions, there was limited evidence of a beneficial impact on collaboration readiness and behavior. The findings suggest the need for further research to identify effective strategies for enhancing cross-disciplinary collaboration. The study also highlights the challenges of recruiting and retaining participants in clinical trials and the importance of funding for team science research. [Extracted from the article]
