Abstract

The article discusses the CubCrafters UL 916, a new bushplane designed for international markets and the UL category. The UL 916 is equipped with a Rotax engine that runs on autogas and has multifuel capability. The article highlights the aircraft's performance during takeoff and landing on a significant grade, its lightweight construction, and horsepower. The Carbon Cub UL, based on the Carbon Cub SS, is a lightweight aircraft designed for short-field operations. It is powered by the Rotax 900-series engine and features a smaller instrument panel with a Garmin G3X Touch main display. The UL prototype demonstrated good performance, with a smooth engine and predictable power changes. CubCrafters plans to refine the design based on customer feedback and expects to finalize it by mid-2024. [Extracted from the article]
