Abstract

The US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has temporarily halted flights at John F. Kennedy International Airport and Newark Liberty International Airport in New York City due to a 4.8 magnitude earthquake that shook the region. The FAA stated that air traffic in New York, New Jersey, Philadelphia, and Baltimore may be affected. The agency is working to resume air traffic operations as quickly as possible. The earthquake, which occurred in northern New Jersey, caused buildings to shake in Manhattan and was felt in Long Island and New York's Hudson Valley. [Extracted from the article]
