Identification of genetic action and genetic diversity in soybean (Glycine max L. Merill) leaves morphology.

Abstract
- Indonesia is one of the largest consumer countries of food made from soybeans in the world. However, so far, soybean production in Indonesia is still low, so an innovation is needed to produce high soybean production. One effort which can be conducted which prepares superior seed through soybean genetic engineering. The purpose of this research is to analyze gene action based on the F2 leaves morphological characteristics of soybean (Glycine max L. Merill). The study used a randomized block design (RBD) three times with data analysis using the SPSS version 20 application. The research subjects were agromulyo x UM 7.6 with their respective parents, namely agromulyo and UM.7.6. In this study, a data normality test was carried out with a skewness and kurtosis normality test. Data analysis is carried out by calculating the average of each character in each variety. The results of data analysis based on the normality test of skewness and kurtosis data are normally distributed (<0.5) on leaf morphological characters (leaf length, leaf width, and petiol length with additive gene action and duplicative epistasis. The character normally distributed means that the characters is quantitative (influenced by many genes). Estimates of heritability for leaf length and width are moderate criteria (influenced by genetics and the environment), leaf petiole length has high heritability (influenced by genetics).
