Abstract

A scoping review conducted by researchers at the University of the Philippines Manila highlights the challenges and treatment gaps in managing pituitary adenomas in the Philippines. The study found that there is a scarcity of updated local clinical data, inequity in the distribution of resources, inadequate government support, and a lack of affordable diagnostic testing, medications, and neurosurgical procedures. The researchers propose strategies to address these gaps, including strengthening universal healthcare, improving public-private insurance coverage, increasing manpower, enhancing accessibility to resources, and spreading awareness. The study emphasizes the need for further research and improvements in the management of pituitary adenomas in the Philippines. [Extracted from the article]
