Abstract

A recent report from the University of Siena in Italy provides new insights into the survival rate and complications of zygomatic implant placement. The study conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis of clinical studies on four surgical techniques for zygomatic implant placement. The results showed that zygomatic implant placement is a reliable technique for the rehabilitation of severely atrophic maxillae, regardless of the surgical technique used. However, accurate case and surgical protocol selection are crucial to reduce postoperative complications. [Extracted from the article]
