Abstract
- A recent study conducted by investigators from Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, examined drug-induced liver injury (DILI) associated with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs) in the United States. The researchers analyzed data from patients with NSAID-DILI and identified genetic factors associated with this condition. They found that diclofenac was the most commonly implicated drug, and certain genetic markers, such as HLA-B35:03 and HLA-DRB104:03, were more frequent in NSAID-DILI patients. The study highlights the importance of immune-mediated responses in DILI and recommends adherence to warnings and close observation for patients using NSAIDs. [Extracted from the article]
