Abstract

A study conducted by the University of KwaZulu Natal in South Africa compared the use of 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT and 99mTc-MAG3 renography in patients with metastatic castration-resistant prostate carcinoma. The study found that there was a strong correlation between the split renal function measurements obtained from both imaging techniques. Additionally, both imaging techniques were able to identify morphological renal abnormalities. The findings suggest that 68Ga-PSMA PET/CT may be a valuable alternative to renography in assessing kidney function and morphology in clinical practice. [Extracted from the article]
