Abstract
- This article, published in the Arab Journal of Interventional Radiology, compares the efficacy and safety of transarterial chemoembolization (TACE) plus radiotherapy versus TACE alone for patients with hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) invading the hepatic vein (HV) or inferior vena cava (IVC). The study retrospectively evaluated data from 79 patients who underwent TACE plus radiotherapy and compared it to a historical control group of 80 patients who received TACE alone. The results showed that TACE plus radiotherapy had longer median progression-free survival (PFS) and overall survival (OS) compared to TACE alone. The study suggests that TACE plus radiotherapy may be more effective in prolonging OS and PFS for this specific patient group. [Extracted from the article]
