Abstract

This document is an abstract from the Journal of Clinical & Translational Science. The first section discusses a program called CUBE that aims to improve students' attitudes towards statistics and encourage them to pursue careers in biostatistics or quantitative research. The second section examines the relationship between parental occupation/education and orthopaedic surgery residency applicants. The study found that applicants with physician parents, healthcare parents, working class parents, and STEMM parents had different match rates, debts, scholarships, and representation from top research medical schools. The third section explores the barriers and needs encountered by research teams when enrolling and retaining underrepresented racial and ethnic groups in clinical research. Language was found to be more influential than ethnicity or race in enrolling and retaining participants. The fourth section focuses on gender diversity inclusion in PrEP clinical trials and aims to construct an assessment scale for evaluating a trial's gender literacy. [Extracted from the article]
