Abstract

A consortium in the UK has launched a project at the Tyseley Energy Park in Birmingham to convert ammonia to hydrogen. The project, which received £6.7 million in funding from the UK government, aims to produce 200kg of clean hydrogen for global transport. In addition, the project will supply hydrogen to the UK's largest hydrogen refuelling station at the energy park. The project includes a vaporisation system and ammonia supply valve stations. The consortium, called Ammogen, believes that the project will greatly improve the efficiency and economics of ammonia cracking. Partners on the project include the UK Department for Energy Security and Net Zero, Gemserv, H2SITE, Equans, Yara, and the University of Birmingham. [Extracted from the article]
