Abstract
- This piece examines the work of Elvira and Hortensia Colorado via the Coatlicue Theatre Company, the first MeXicana Indigenous all-women's theater group in the U.S. This piece contextualizes their personal journey and the formation of their theatre company in New York City. The essay takes a deep look at their work to pay tribute and acknowledge a story not widely known about these sisters and how they impacted MeXicana Indigenous storytelling and healing.
