Abstract

A recent study conducted by the University of Leicester in the United Kingdom explored the integration of child and youth mental health services in disadvantaged South African communities. The study involved training four child practitioners who then co-produced an intervention informed by a service transformation framework. The findings highlighted the importance of community engagement, awareness, and integrated care in improving mental health service provision. The research concluded that actively involving communities in the co-production and delivery of mental health services can enhance service provision in resource-constrained contexts.
