Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Chungnam National University in South Korea has found that a compound called eupatolide, derived from the Liriodendron tulipifera plant, can enhance the effectiveness of tumor necrosis factor (TNF) in inducing cell death. The compound disrupts the ubiquitination of RIPK1, a protein involved in cell survival, leading to the activation of RIPK1 and the promotion of apoptosis and necroptosis. This discovery suggests that eupatolide could be a potential therapeutic approach for overcoming TNF resistance in cancer treatment. The study provides new insights into the mechanisms of apoptosis and necroptosis and offers a promising avenue for further research in this field. [Extracted from the article]
