Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the Federal University of Para in Belem, Brazil compared two treatments for partial skin burns: Nile tilapia skin xenografts and silver-based dressings. The study, which included a meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials, found that tilapia skin showed promising results in terms of efficacy and benefits compared to conventional dressings. The outcomes of interest, including complete re-epithelialization, decreased pain level, and dressing change, were found to be more favorable with tilapia skin treatment. This research provides new insights into the use of xenografts for burn wound management. [Extracted from the article]
