Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at McMaster University provides insights into the selection process for international medical graduates (IMGs) applying for postgraduate training positions in Canada. The study found that out of 1,725 applicants in 2019, only 14.1% matched on their first attempt and 6.4% matched after two to three attempts. The percentage of IMGs matched did not differ significantly by gender, but there were significant associations between the year of graduation or geographic area of medical school and matching. The study's findings will be valuable in informing future selection implications for Canada. [Extracted from the article]
