Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at the University of North Carolina Wilmington has validated a new measure of cognitive insight in individuals with Alzheimer's disease. The study included two parts: a pilot study with 31 patients and a larger study with 240 patients. The results showed that the measure, called the Cognitive Coding Form (CCF), was effective in distinguishing between cognitively normal individuals and those with mild cognitive impairment or Alzheimer's disease. The researchers also found that depression and executive functioning played a role in insight. These findings contribute to our understanding of the role of insight in predicting performance in individuals with Alzheimer's pathology. [Extracted from the article]
