Abstract
- A recent report from Purdue University discusses the role of tau and alpha-synuclein aggregates in neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer's disease and Parkinson's disease. The researchers designed and synthesized compounds that showed anti-aggregation activity against these proteins. Two compounds, 46 and 48, demonstrated the highest anti-aggregation activity against alpha-synuclein. The researchers suggest that these compounds could serve as a basis for developing disease-modifying agents for Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. [Extracted from the article]
