Abstract

A new report discusses research on non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), which is closely associated with insulin resistance, obesity, and metabolic syndromes. The researchers conducted a systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the effectiveness of olive oil intake in people with NAFLD. The analysis included seven randomized controlled trials involving 515 subjects. The findings suggest that olive oil intake may have a modestly positive impact on body weight in people with NAFLD.
