Abstract

A recent report from INCLEN Trust International highlights the regional prevalence of hospital-reported childhood intussusception in India. The study used geospatial analysis to map the locations of intussusception cases and identify clustering patterns. The research found 14 hotspots in two states, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, and determined that easy access and facility referral preferences were the main causes of the clustering pattern. The study recommends community-based surveillance studies to improve understanding of the disease's prevalence and regional burden. [Extracted from the article]
